How do I set up wifi for ssh with no ethernet?

Postby jm4n1015 » Sun Aug 06, 2017 1:03 am

I need to connect to a raspberry pi zero via ssh. However, I can't connect it to ethernet in order to set up wifi. Is there a way for me to set up wifi on the sd card from another computer?

Connect to the UART pins using a USB to Serial connector. The FTDI ones are best (imho) and there is one for the RPi, called FTDI RPi:

Then you can log in over serial ... it won't give ssh, but will give a terminal; through which you can change the settings on the RPi Arch ...

Alternatively, pop the SD card into another computer, and then edit the relevant files ...
