add arm to pkgbuild?

im running arch arm and hitting many packages from the aur with not available for arm.
my question is:
is it safe to edit pkgbuild and add arm to architecture?
or should i just pass the -A option to makepkg?
I understand that if i install package with -A option it might or might not work, ill just have to -Rns if it doesnt work.. correct?

If these are packages that compile from source code, and if that source code can be compiled for ARM, then that should be everything that you need to do.
Obviously, this is not possible for binary packages and unnecessary on *-any packages.
