[SOLVED] SSH broken pipe after openssl update

Postby slydder » Fri Sep 13, 2019 5:31 am

Hello,

After updateing to the new openssl version (1.1.1d) I receive broken pipe while connecting to odroid-c1 trough ssh.

Dependencies:
    openssh 8.0p1-2
    openssl 1.1.1.d-1
    linux-odroid-c1 3.10.107-2

Steps to reproduce:
Connect to to Odroid-c1 trough ssh.

Result on server:

Sep 12 16:25:11 user sshd[419]: Accepted password for user from <ip> port 32780 ssh2
Sep 12 16:25:11 user sshd[419]: fatal: privsep_preauth: preauth child terminated by signal 31

The configuration for Openssh server is the default which comes with the package.
Anybody facing similar issues?

Have a nice day,
- Slydder

Same problem here, very annoying, resolved with a downgrade of openssl.

windozupdat3.

I'm curious. Do you have an Odroid C1 as well?

As you know, I started another thread on the same issue and everyone who chimed in saying they were not having the problem were also not running a C1. Thanks for sending me the link to this thread.

I'm afraid somehow it's related to the kernel of the Odroid-C1 which is kind of old.
I've searched a lot of the problem and it seems to manifest only on the C1.

Well, I tried to recompile the C1 kernel to see if that would help. Nope

So far we have:
C1 and PogoPlug OxNas that are affected with kernels 3.10 and 3.12.

Cubox i with 3.14 works just fine.
