Perhaps it should be split and fetch sources from the repos and inherit their "versions" (commit ids)?

Hi,

I was running into some WiFi firmware related issues (eg. random lockups) on my Rpi 3B and I was looking for a newer firmware to test and was able to find one at [1] which also included a link to the firmware sources [2].
Firmware upgrade did help resolve my issue.
I patched the the firmware package locally to include the newer files and posted it here [3].
I would also like to see the newer file officially included.
