dbus 1.12.20-1: broken after system update on Cubox

Hi,

Updated the system a few days ago and all looked well at first, however yesterday I found I could no longer find the machine through its hostname. Long story short avahi fails to start because dbus fails to start with a very cryptic error message:

Google doesn't give good results, plenty for "Operation not permitted" but none for "Success"

I did read viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14342&hilit=dbus+cubox and tried downgrading to a known working systemd version, as well as the one I already had in the /var/cache/pacman/pkg and sadly none of those worked.
