OOH :) that helps.

I can't exactly count on that staying the same though.

What I am thinking is this:
1 cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep oxnas -- verify it's an oxnas board
2 lspci -- count the output. If it's a video or a pro, it will have >3 lines, otherwise 1

Good to hear it's still PPV3 though, for the time being.

Hello all.

Tonight i've tried to install Arch Linux ARM to my POGO-B04.

I've followed the instructions in 'Install on Pogoplug Pro' (since the B04 is mentioned there).
As far as i can tell everything went fine. No differing output in comparance with the output as stated in the how to.
(Got the 'looks good!' output aswell).

Rebooted the POGO but it won't get back up.
Logo on the front flashes few times (short). (But i think the device isn't booting. USB key's led indicator doesn't blink. Apparently nothing is read from the key).

I'am using a USB key formatted as ext2. Inserted it in the bottom most USB slot (nearest to ethernet port).

Tried several things like:
- Putting PlugApps-Linux-2011.04-oxnas-rootfs.tar on another USB key formatted with ext2 and ext3. (Tried
PlugApps-Linux-2011.02-rootfs.tar.gz aswell).
- Tried different slots etc.

No luck yet.

Maybe i should try a USB harddrive instead of a USB key?

What could i try else?

Should i consider my Pogo a dead brick? (Hopefully not :( )

I really wish people would read the wiki.

90% chance, brick.

But, not dead-dead. Just needs a serial cable, and a little fine tuning.

Thanks for your reply and for placing the additional warning at the top of the 'Install on Pogoplug Pro' page.

It's not that i'am not willing to read... A little over enthousiasm caught me so i did not read carefully enough..
Today i orderd a CA-42 datacable. Together with the good information on the wiki i should be able to unbrick my B04.

I understand entirely, the comment was meant in general, and with no malice :)

The massive rash of bricked B03/4 we had yesterday was unexpected, but fuel to get the P21/etc kernel running in the installer asap.

I noticed that the new install script was available so I decided to give it a try. The good news is that it has successfully installed Arch Linux ARM linux on my POGO-B03! The only thing I noticed is that somehow nanddump is missing so it is not possible to create a backup of the old nand:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
#############################
## RETRIEVING FILES
# Downloading 2011.04-oxnas-rootfs...
Connecting to Arch Linux ARM.com (206.217.130.189:80)
# Verifying MD5
# Extracting
# Recording MAC Address
# Coping key CE binaries...
cp: can't stat '/usr/sbin/nanddump': No such file or directory
# Done copying.
#############################
## FLASHING NAND & UBOOT VARS
# backing up mtd1
./oxnas-install.sh: line 212: /usr/sbin/nanddump: not found
')

After rebooting, I noticed that "udevd" is taking 100% cpu all the time, I am looking into this right now.

install mtd-utils, and I suppose they may have altered the contents/location in their fs.

Any news if Arch Linux ARM is supporting the POGO-B04 versions?
