help : uninstall

Postby davespogo » Wed Jul 27, 2011 6:20 am

Hi,
I am looking at installing archlinux on my pink pogoplug.
The version is right and should install no problem.
I can't find anything about uninstalling if I decide to go back.
It looks like things have recently gone through a re-org and maybe this information got moved somewhere?
Thanks
Dave

Pink, V2, POGO-E02?

Just reboot without the drive containing the rootfs, if I understand correctly.

Thanks that is what I sort of understood as well. But then I saw something about the boot manager being changed and wasn't sure anymore.

U-Boot gets changed, but it's specifically made to:
1) check for a drive attached that is labelled "rootfs"
2) if it can't locate and load the kernel from such a drive, default to the NAND, which generally is the default CE software.

Aha, found what I was worried about.
When you install the loader it asks if you want to disable the pogoservice.
Is that easy to turn back on if I want to later on?

It is a simple edit to a script.

thanks crimsonredmk.
yeah it is a simple edit to a script, but knowing what script is the key. ;)
I have a new problem where it won't boot off the usb key anymore but I will play around with that.
Might just reinstall.
