installer doesn't work on Ubuntu 10.10

I'm trying to run the install instructions at http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5/sheevaplug

I have fought through a wealth of problems (scripts don't want to run from a fat32 partition because no -x bit). Copied everything to a linux partition, did a chmod -R a+x on it all, and am to the place where it gets done with

"erased blocks 0 to 5 on NAND flash device #0 'NAND 512MiB 3,3V 8-bit'"

then does a segfault and a "openocd FAILED"

I'm running a Ubuntu 10.10 live CD...

the instructions seem good, but possibly assume certain versions of Linux?

thanks. I ended up dropping back to Windows, and everything worked fine.
