RaspberryPi 4 eeprom package

Postby tokenize » Tue Oct 29, 2019 11:17 am

Hello, I just saw that the RPI4 has a new component which needs to be update apart from the normal firmware.

Check here:

https://github.com/raspberrypi/rpi-eeprom

Are there plans to implement this package in the arm repo for pacman to update it automatically?

Best

In the meanwhile you could write your own PKGBUILD, I did that (not perfectly, skipped some "sed" because of lazyness), it's not too hard ;)
Actually you could even do that without installing

I've been able to manually update, but I'm not that much familiar with pkgs. I guess I'll just invest sometime into it and created one.

Maybe whoever made the best PKGBUILD, put it in the AUR? I asked on IRC about it w/ plans to do it... but if you guys already did the hard part, just push it! :)

Since no one else did, I took RoEdAl's PKGBUILD as a base and created an rpi-eeprom package. But there are AUR issues at the moment, so it doesn't show up. You *can* clone it via https at least, though even *that* has some errors.
