Goflex Arch Install, no network

Postby garyj » Fri Aug 19, 2011 6:41 pm

I followed these instructions very carefully (http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5 ... oflex-home) and everything seemed to work fine, but after rebooting for the first time, I can't access the device remotely.

Green light is solid.

Router shows that it sees its mac address and even labels it "GoFlex", but the interface is inactive.

I've tried using a usb drive to boot (the one downloadable from Jeff Doozan's website), but the same thing -- solid green light, no IP address assigned.

What are my next steps? Find a usb->serial cable so that I can get console output, or is there something else I can try first?

Thanks,
Gary

Right, I can't ping, ssh, etc. As far as I can tell, the device never acquired an IP address upon reboot.

Alright, it appears I was mistaken -- the box does come up with network interface acquired, and I can ping/ssh into it. Sorry for the false alarm (caused by a bad cat5 cable/connection).
