wget: can't open 'mke2fs': Read-only file system

I'm following the this guide (http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5 ... 2-pinkgray) for my E02.

I get to step 6 (Now create the ext2 filesystem) and I get the following error on wget:
wget: can't open 'mke2fs': Read-only file system

I'm using a 2GB flash drive. Think I should try another type of usb drive??
