Cannot SSH to pogoplug after updating pacman

Postby dss8053 » Fri Mar 30, 2012 1:30 pm

My Pogoplug is the pink one. I believe it is POGO-E02 . Yesterday I updated pacman and I was prompted to remove gnupg2 due to conflict to gnupg and I confirmed.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', ':: gnupg and gnupg2 are in conflict. Remove gnupg2? [y/N] y ')
After that I cannot SSH to the Pogoplug while everything else is still working and accessable, including samba, Cherokee etc.

I get this message when I try to ssh to it.
ssh: exited: Error connecting: Connection refused

I looked up in the forum and found some similar posts but did not get the solution.

Do I have to reinstall?

Thanks.

I would suggest doing a filesystem check before you reinstall. `e2fsck /dev/sdx` where x is your drive, using a different linux machine

I'm having the exact same problem here after updating packman.
Checked the filesystem, nothing wrong with that.

From the packman log, the following packages were updated:
tzdata glibc bash openssl curl pacman kmod usbutils udev util-linux e2fsprogs gcc-libs

Any idea which package update caused this?

What device do you have. It could be openssl or glibc i guess as they are the only 2 somehow related to ssh.

I also have the Pink PogoPlug (POGO-E02).

Tried connecting with both Mac OS and Ubuntu, both times I get the connection refused error.

Well... since you have no ssh access there are two way to fix the problem. One is to use your computer with linux and qemu-arm (usermode) setup and chroot into an installation of ALARM (pleas don't ask me how to do this :) ). Then pacman -Rs openssh, pacman -Sy openssh. The other is to do a full reinstall.

I did the reinstall, didn't take that long, since I could copy over the configuration from the old drive.

Hi, Can you tell how did you reinstall it? I have the same issue. However, I tried to use linux in virtual box to reinstall to a brand new flash drive by extracting from rootfs from the following instuction:

http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv6 ... provideov3

It wasn't successful. I think it is only for pogo V3, and mine is pogoplug pink V2. Is there other way to reinstall it?

Thanks

Tried several approaches people suggested and did not work.

I finally did re-install and everything worked again.

Made a copy of files on the old flash disc and saved some time in configurations.

To reinstall, just following the directions on this webpage for POGO-E02 and POGO-E02G
http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5 ... s-ui-tabs2

Make sure unplug all the usb discs before turning on the power.
