[SOLVED] This is really weird on my E02!

Postby singhparwinder » Fri Nov 30, 2012 3:34 am

Hi,

I installed Arch Linux on my pogoplug E02 (pink) as stated here:

http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5 ... 2-pinkgray

The installation went just fine and now when i reboot and ssh it, i get a Pogoplug:/$ prompt.

I clearly remember that it used to say alarm@root or something similar when i had done it on my black pogoplug. What have i done wrong here ? Have i installed arch linux on the root of the device itself ?

The major thing that made me ask this question was that even if i unplug the USB device and i ssh, i get the same prompt. It boots up with a green LED!

Please help me.

Console output :

Pogoplug:~$ cd ..
Pogoplug:/$ ls
bin mnt tmp
dev proc uboot-original-mtd0.kwb
etc root usr
lib sbin var
linuxrc sys
Pogoplug:/$

Well, i figured it out. I erased my pen drive and started the whole process again with a clean slate. This time it did work :)
I know it works now but i still would be curious enough to understand what was wrong the first time. Just because it is right now does not mean I don't want to know what was wrong then!

Another question, to start with the basic configuration i decided to add items to rc.conf as this article proposed :

http://archlinuxarm.org/support/guides/ ... irst-steps

I did not have any rc.conf . I mean it opened a blank file. I remember a file with text already when i did my black pogoplug. WHAT am i doing wrong here.

There is no more rc.conf as the rootfs for the armv5te has been switched to systemd. As for the 'pogoplug' prompt, it looks like it booted into the original firmware.
