GoFlex Home not working after update uboot

I followed the instructions in http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3355 to update the uboot of my GoFlex Home. And I set it to boot from SATA first.

I followed all the instructions (including net console) then rebooted the device. After reboot, I couldn't SSH to the device. My router showed that the device doesn't get an ip address. I tried the net console, but there are not outputs from net console, although I followed the instructions to activate it.

I made a USB and tried to boot the device from the USB, and it worked. The device can boot up from the USB if SATA is not in. I can SSH into the device. However, I don't know what to do after I SSH in, as I am a complete noob to linux. Could anyone shed some lights on how do I fix my device? Thanks!

What is the size of your SATA disk? Is it formatted with GPT, and if so, have you made a Hybrid MBR on it?

It is 1.5TB. I don't think it has GPT. I followed the instruction on http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5/seagate-goflex-home and partitioned with fdisk (it was done a long ago though). Is there a way I can check?

If you followed those instructions and used fdisk, then it should indeed be MBR, and not an issue.

The device does boot on USB. Should I try to run the uboot update again? I am also curious as to why net console is not working.

If it boots off usb, what is the environment? Are you trying netconsole on wireless?

Also, I noticed that the MAC address of the device is changed to 025043F616C2.

I meant U-Boot environemnt (fw_printenv command). VM is why your netconsole is not working. You need to set the NIC in bridged mode.

Finally get netconsole working. The following is the output from U-boot when I boot from SATA. The kernel log still doesn't show anything.
