Default root password

Postby bighairyal » Wed Nov 11, 2015 3:03 pm

Hi there,

I've just installed the kirkwood-latest distribution onto a pink pogoplug E02. The only thing I had to do differently to the instructions at http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5 ... 2-pinkgray was to use:

tar -xzvf

rather than:

./bsdtar -xpf

to install the package, after bsdtar threw me an 'Error exit delayed from previous error'

Anyway, I can ssh into Arch using Putty and the alarm/alarm username/password no problem - but trying to login using root/root gives me an 'access denied' message.

Any ideas?

Thanks all,

Al

I've tried the solution outlined in viewtopic.php?f=57&t=9158.

i.e. adding PermitRootLogin yes to /etc/ssh/sshd_config using Nano, but it won't let me save the file once I've modified it, saying 'permission denied'.......

Should add, this is the first I've ever had to do with Linux.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('bighairyal', 'S')hould add, this is the first I've ever had to do with Linux.

Solved, with a simple su into root via a Putty terminal. Now I can pacman to my hearts content.

Thanks for reading, noob spotters!
