ARM problems loading external drive on Pogo Plug

Postby RobGhost » Fri Mar 14, 2014 8:08 pm

Hello,
I currently run Arch on a pogoplug with an external drive attached in the front running Plex and webmin.

when i lost power it seems that nothing starts, maybe it due to the external drive starting up to late and it freaks out Arch.
I'm not really sure how to phrase my question so bare with me, how can I get arch to perhaps delay starting in order to allow the external drive to 'catchup' in order for everything else to start? one trick I tried was to follow the pogo plug instructions and reinstall everything and it worked fine but I think that's a bit much to do every time power or being unplugged

You probably want to fsck the driver from another linux system (can be a LiveCD/USB)

well ive reinstalled everything several times before it's only when i loose power that things go bad, which requires unplugging the drive and reinstalling again from scratch, then things work fine. I followed the video instructions at http://myownhomeserver.com/2012/11/how- ... goplug-v2/ but opted to not use a flash drive because or its read/write life span (plus i need more space than a flash can provide since i also use plex)

since i dont know linux very well a little step by step would be helpful

Well, let me make a small point.
This page right here contains the only officiall supported instructions in any way.

As for how to boot a linux LiveCD/LiveUSB on an x86 *anything* ? Google will serve you just fine.

those instructions are exactly what the video tutorial shows. but i did find this post viewtopic.php?f=18&t=5688

but i dont know how to set or use netconsole. if i have the drive connected and unplug/plug back in the pogoplug im unable to ssh where as not having any drives plugged in i am able to ssh to the pogoplug. i booted into the pogoplug then plugged in the drive and rebooted but that didnt work either.
