HDMI freezes during boot, ssh works

Postby hugener » Wed May 29, 2019 9:18 pm

Hi guys,

I have installed arch Linux arm using the instructions: https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv8/broadcom/raspberry-pi-3.
However, during boot my HDMI display freezes. It's still possible to SSH into arch, so it seems that the installation is working.

I have tried different power supplies. Currently I'm using a 5V 4.8A, that should be enough.
If I enter uboot the display also freezes after a short while. I get time enough to enter a few commands before it happens.
I have also had an RPI 2 with arch working with the same display.

Can anyone help me?

I haven't found a proper solution, but if you like me do not need graphics acceleration the vc4 driver can be blacklisted like this:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'e')cho blacklist vc4 > /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-vc4.conf
