How to reset to stock using serial port

Postby yossarian » Thu Dec 15, 2011 5:05 am

I installed archlinux and managed to screw up my device to the point where I cannot see it on the network after a reboot. I got a working serial cable and am able to access the uboot command line. Are there instructions that explain how to reset the device to the factory configuration from the uboot command line?

If you are planning on running ALARM on it, then just redo the rootfs.

If not, the get into u-boot, and at the prompt:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'setenv bootcmd "run boot_nand"')
Test if that works by:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'run bootcmd')
If it does indeed work, then re-run the setenv command and:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'save')
Then either run the bootcmd or `reset`

Thanks Warheads. Is "ALARM" the name of the Archlinux distro you maintain for Pogoplug Pro? And is redoing the rootfs as easy as downloading and untarring http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM ... est.tar.gz onto my flash drive using another (working) Linux box?
