Netatalk libdb5.2.so[resolved]

Postby corbo » Tue Jan 24, 2012 9:46 pm

To get Netatalk to run on my dockstar, I had to link libdb5.3.so to libdb5.2.so:

ln -s libdb-5.3.so libdb-5.2.so

I'm now getting Invalid CNID using temp CNID on my Mac.

I'm getting errors when I try to run dbd -r:

BDB1588 Maximum memory size too large: maximum is 4GB
BDB0055 illegal flag specified to DB_ENV->backup
Jan 24 15:43:25.442610 [8769] {dbif.c:499} (E:CNID): error closing DB environment after recovery: Invalid argument
error opening database!

Has anyone else tried to run Netatalk with libdb-5.3.so? If this isn't just me, is there a workaround? :)

berkeleydb files are incompatoble from one version to another.
you could try to db_dump the db with version 5.2 and db_load it with version 5.3
I'm not sure it will work, be sure to make a backup first

tell me if that isn't clear enough....

Would that be necessary from a fresh build? It seems as if Netatalk isn't able to create the database.

I think it is trying to rebuild the DB. try db_XX_dump, it may behave differently, and will only read the db and print it in a semi-readable format

I've completely formatted the drive that is shared with Netatalk earlier as part of my troubleshooting. It's my Time Machine backup drive, so it was easy enough for me to just start over with the entire setup. The databases would be on this drive correct? The .AppleDB .AppleDouble, etc? There should be nothing to upgrade, as it was created with the new db?

Found this in my /var/log/errors.log:

Jan 26 20:47:46 nessie afpd[727]: cnid_cdb_new: the Berkeley DB library version used does not match the version compiled with: (5.2)/(5.3)

I'm building Netatalk 2.2.2-0 from AUR.

I used yaourt to grab the netatalk 2.2.2 package.

I then added 'arm" to the arch= line in PKGBUILD

After that the compile and install went fine. No issues. CNID database built correctly and the errors are gone.
