Goog morning

I take the option of Atardani and recompile with modification on pl2303.c
Result is nok even the first time.
So i replace the original driver. modprobe -r , modprobe pl2303, Test : OK one time (like before)

I try to do also modprobe -r pl2303.ko, modprobe pl2303 , Test : nok .. so removing the module and add to do like a refresh didn't work.

So there is in pl2303.c somethings that the kernel don't like.

Damnit :(

What dmesg says with "modified" pl2303.ko?
And what answer gives the command : aurora --verbose -a 2 /dev/ttyUSB0 ?

Another attempt I would like to try is to recompile unmodified drivers caught from a more recent kernel.

Since i read that problems have been fixed in final version of 2.6.31 (archlinuxarm is based on 2.6.31-rc2, right?), I caught the uncompiled drivers (usbserial.c and pl2303.c) from final version of 2.6.31.

They are attached. If you want to make an attempt...

Atardani,

To have the driver pl2303.ko on my pogo , i have follow the procedure of Buffalom (see viewtopic.php?f=29&t=2660#p15017) and this is based on the pl2303.c is based on 2.6.31-rc2 kernel. I don't think the pl2303.c is changing along kernel version. this C program comes from the manufacturer and it's build for one architecture and one kernel.
In fact , you compile the modules with this version but the kernel on the pogo is still another one.

The solution is to change the kernel on the pogo and this is another story... we need to investigate in that.

I'm afraid that we can't have this driver running well for a long time :( I starting to think about changing the hardware to a raspberry may be but this one is not available and also it's a armv6...
That's pitty because i don't have enough knowledge to solve this issue where i'm sure it's possible for someone having that.
And also, i don't find any log saying what is wrong. it's frustrating.

I'm afraid also that there is no other distribution for the armv6. That's means that is difficult work and need specific knowledge for having linux on arm architecture. Then we are dependant of key peoples working on those things.

In the meantime, I will have a look under wiki and devlopper when i have free time.

1) It's arm armv6kl ARM11 MPCore with no fpu.
2) The kernel is built as armv6k, but all of the software other than that is built on/for armv5te.
3) 2.6.31-rc* .. are you certain that is newer than 2.6.31.6/.14 ?

Forgive me as I have had my hands busy with other things than to build a newer kernel. It's on my asap timeline.

Don't waste your time, zigomatic.

I installed also debian (from the same forum you linked) but the results are the same.
The kernel is the same (2.6.31-6).

Seriously. I have essential directions posted multiple times, if you're going to be so impatient. And the Debian rootfs uses my kernel image anyways!

Reason: edited to add 'image' as to denote that it is it image I produced, as obviously it's not ""my"" kernel.
