odd samba issue

Hello,

I installed Archlinux on my v2 pink Pogoplug this weekend. I've been feeling my way around, and everything's been steadily progressing. I'm having an odd samba issue, I can't seem to pin down.

I reboot, and my usb hard drive is mounted. Samba's set to share the /media directory.

But samba's not answering on 445 or 139. I check the service, and it's running. So I restart samba. Then everything is fine.

This is repeatable every time. I can't figure out why I have to log in and restart samba each time. I'm not seeing anything useful in /var/log/samba/*

Any ideas? Or other places I could be checking for clues?

I had that same issue last year....it doesn't do it anymore for me since i wiped the drive. But for a workaround I just added /etc/rc.d/samba restart to my rc.local, I know it's a lazy way to do it and doesn't actually address what's wrong...but it worked.

Thank you xenoxaos. I actually tried the same thing. But the restart seems to occur too early to help me. I would need it to occur later in the boot process (apparently).

Lazy's ok, as long as it works!

Actually it's inconsistent. This time it worked. I don't plan to reboot it often, but would be great to not have to worry about it.

Then add a

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'sleep 30')

to you rc.local before the samba restart.
