Can't get picture with HDMI

Postby grondinm » Wed Jun 27, 2012 10:29 pm

I am unable to get any kind of picture on my tv using HDMI. I found this http://www.gilesthomas.com/?p=540 and tried everything it said but i still get nothing. I tried setting hdmi_safe=1 tried setting hdmi_group=1 and hdmi_mode=4(native for my tv) but i still get nothing. hdmi_force_hotplug=1 still nothing config_hdmi_boost=4(even tried 6) still nothing. My sony HD receiver does detect some sort of input as it lights up the speaker chanels but nothing ever comes up on the TV. Confirmed cable is working by using it with PS3...not sure where else to go at this point

EDIT:i am using the latest image on the Raspi download page and fully updated.

as much as i hate double posting had to make sure people saw this update. I can confirm that this is not related to my Pi or a power issue as i was able to get output from HDMI using a HDMI to DVI cable to my dell monitor. What could it be about my tv that the pi does not like. Does anyone have a copy of the 04-29 alamrpi image could it somehow be something updated that causes the issue. i am at a loss completely at this point...

A major difference is it had these active in the config.txt file
hdmi_mode=19
disable_overscan=1
I have the 29 04 image if nessesary

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'http://myplugbox.com/archlinuxarm-29-04-2012.zip
sha1 cfedb12205af048ecfea973bcc8f84cb0507565c ')
Let me know if it works, or not

so i plugged in my PI this weekend SSH'ed in and did pacman -Syu. saw updated firmware and kernel and though "maybe this will fix my HDMI issue" But still no go. why does it seem like i am the only one not getting anything from hdmi. i saw other threads but most seem fixed with hdmi_safemode or some other config entry...any one else have the same model tv as me with working hdmi from PI??

TV is a Sharp LC-26DV24U

Download the debian image from the raspberrypi website and use their config.txt. The amount of memory reserved for the GPU also has an influence on the signal sent to the display.

I had similar problems until I tried two things. first I used a different HDMI cable, second I mounted the SD card in Linux and set safe HDMI mode off in the configuration file in /boot. it booted fine and I was able to turn safe mode off, so it must have been the cable. :?
