/lib not symlinked?

Postby Cybertimber2009 » Sun Jul 22, 2012 4:17 pm

I've updated my kernel and all my other packages and rebooted successfully. It took a bit of googleing along the way. Now I'm not too worried since it rebooted, but I did notice that my /lib is not symlinked.

Backstory:
When it came to one of the errors, I ran across this (http://allanmcrae.com/2012/07/updating- ... e-install/) and that lead me to the wiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/De ... iki:usrlib) .
I ran into Issue 1. Everything updated fine, but the end check...
$ ls -ld /lib
shows
ls -ld /lib
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 4096 Jul 22 11:50 /lib

But warhead also said to run "mv /lib/modules/* /usr/lib/modules" o.O

Yes, /lib/modules and not /lib

There is a big difference there. Including that I didn't have a slash after modules~!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pepedog', 'Y')es, /lib/modules and not /lib

*smacks forhead* you are right. So what I read about is something yet to come down the pipeline I guess?

@warhead:
Looking at the original thread I found that under another user's post (when I was writing this one) but what I actually ran was yours. Sorry for the confusion there.

I am ashamed to say 3 days ago I tried to make /usr a symlink to /usr/lib, first step was to delete /lib, a bad mistake.
Think arch was on my mind at the time
