Thanks mooman!

I did try to compile the newer kernel using your configuration but it failed at the last minuted and I did not have time to investigate the errors.

Today I tried to get new kernel to test but it looks like your files are not there. I got 404 error when I try wget the two files that you posted.

Are they still there?

Yeah... I'am lucky lol. First 1TB drive in GoFlex died, that got replaced. Now this one is diying (dead). I actually got it to spin up just now so download should be working, but I dunno how much longer it will last. If I reboot the plug it spins down and doesn't want to spin back up and makes weird noises unless I leave it alone for a couple of hours and/or unplug from power. I need to replace it asap.

Moonman, I read some negative reviews about GFH disk saying that it runs hot. Do you think the heat was the cause of the death?

It certainly could be the cause. Everytime I took the hdd from the enclosure it was almost impossible to hold it in the hand because it was too hot.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('wild', 'S')peedDown the hard drive when it's not used I have the same trouble (too hot).

That is what (I think) killed my 2TB Drive so I don't spin down hdds anymore :)

Anyway, back to kworker. I updated my last post on the previous age with new links to the re-compiled kernel without SD/MMC support.
