[SOLVED] GoFlex Net green blinking / No IP

Postby cyrus06 » Tue Sep 04, 2012 6:38 pm

Hi,

I just bought an Go Flex Net and tried to get archlinux on it. I made step by step but after the last step - the reboot (step 20) the GFN comes up with a green blinking led! Till now it blinks for about 20 minutes. the second thing is, the GFN doesn't get an IP from the local DHCP server.

I checked the USB stick if the labeling is wrong but it comes up with the label rootfs. the only thing I mentioned at the installtion was, that at the beginning the stick was found on sda1 instead of sda2. so i changed everytime sda1 to sda2 in the installtion proccess.

I'm not able to get anything out of netconsole!

EDIT: Solved the problem with a new USB Stick which was made out of a debian machine as root!

Essentially: format the usb stick as ext2/3, and extract the rootfs tarball into the root of that new drive, as root or 'sudo su'
