Postby sbeatz76 » Mon Oct 01, 2012 3:31 pm

Hi Guys,

just wanted to let you know that i found a cheap SATA port multiplier working perfectly with my GoFlex Net.
Bought this one on ebay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=271057098889#ht_3495wt_1271
and attached 4 SATA HDDs to it...
perfectly working with archlinux!!! just in case anyone wants to attach more than 2 SATA disks :)

cheers

What's the model number and manufacturer of this card? The part number printed on it doesn't seem to show up on Google. I can't find more of those on Ebay. Did you find a suitable enclosure case for it?

Manufacturer is Polotek from China, Modelnumber is PL-ADP-022-01... http://www.polotek.cn/?sp=&p=6&cat2=0&cat1=42&cat0=12&id=194&cat1=42&cat0=12&new=&more=&s=9dc2b778f90d3e645b6e9323e888c8f4&lang=en

To be honest i don't use a case for it the board of my Goflex Net, HDDs and this SATA port multiplier went into the old enclosure of my HP EX475 Mediaserver since this case has space for 4 3.5" hdds....

What's the chipset model number used on this board? Is it getting hot when several drives are exchanging data?

Any RAID support? Can you measure the card dimensions?

What's the max file transfer speed btw 2 drives connected to this card hooked to Pogo?
What's the max file transfer speed over LAN btw PC and a drive connected to this card hooked to Pogo?

I wonder what the likelihood of that working with other SATA enabled Pogoplugs, like the B0x line?

I couldn't find it on ebay either, did find it on AlieExpress, here's the link where you can order a minimum of 1(instead of the 5 minimum in their other entry):
