Verify that partition 1 is ext2 and contains /uImage. If not, extract the uImage to it.

thank you !
you are exact, the installer did nothing on the disk, no partition, no filesystem, only the uboot env
the installer should be more robust and check everything is ok before modifying the bootloader...

but now I have a never ending loop

the rootfs is first mounted read-only and then it is remounted but it is not explicit if it is read-write or not
here is the log, how can fix it ?
I also tryed the august release but I get no ethernet with it

Re: NSA320 installer failed

Postby WarheadsSE » Mon Dec 17, 2012 8:37 pm

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'Kernel command line: console=ttyS0,115200 mtdparts=nand_mtd:0x100
000(uboot),0x80000(uboot_env),0x80000(key_store),0x80000(info),0xA00000(etc),0xA

ev/sda2 ro rootwait loglevel=8')

The above shows the problem indeed. This needs to be changed at in the uboot settings for bootargs_linux

thank you WarheadsSE !

just to be sure, because I am very new to uboot, I should stop the autoboot and type
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'run to_stock')
and after boot
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
fw_setenv arcNumber 3956
fw_setenv mainlineLinux yes
fw_setenv bootargs_stock 'console=ttyS0,115200 mtdparts=nand_mtd:0x100000(uboot),0x80000(uboot_env),0x80000(key_store),0x80000(info),0xA00000(etc),0xA00000(kernel_1),0x2FC0000(rootfs1),0xA00000(kernel_2),0x2FC0000(rootfs2) root=/dev/nfs rw init=/init'
fw_setenv bootargs_linux 'console=ttyS0,115200 mtdparts=nand_mtd:0x100000(uboot),0x80000(uboot_env),0x80000(key_store),0x80000(info),0xA00000(etc),0xA00000(kernel_1),0x2FC0000(rootfs1),0xA00000(kernel_2),0x2FC0000(rootfs2) root=/dev/sda2 rw rootwait loglevel=8'
fw_setenv bootcmd_linux 'setenv bootargs $(bootargs_linux); ide reset; ext2load ide 0:1 $(loadaddr) /uImage; bootm $(loadaddr)'
fw_setenv bootcmd_stock 'setenv bootargs $(bootargs_stock); nand read.e $(loadaddr) $(kernel_addr) 0xA00000; bootm $(loadadr)'
fw_setenv to_stock "setenv mainlineLinux no; setenv bootcmd \'run bootcmd_stock\'; saveenv; reset"
fw_setenv to_linux "setenv mainlineLinux yes; setenv bootcmd \'run bootcmd_linux\'; saveenv; reset"
fw_setenv bootcmd 'run to_linux'
reboot
')
or just
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
w_setenv bootargs_linux 'console=ttyS0,115200 mtdparts=nand_mtd:0x100000(uboot),0x80000(uboot_env),0x80000(key_store),0x80000(info),0xA00000(etc),0xA00000(kernel_1),0x2FC0000(rootfs1),0xA00000(kernel_2),0x2FC0000(rootfs2) root=/dev/sda2 rw rootwait loglevel=8'
fw_setenv bootcmd 'run to_linux'
reboot
')

The second section looks correct. Depending on the value of bootcmd as it is, you might not need anything the setenv bootcmd line.
