Error when trying to install/launch MPD

Postby chris5h » Mon Dec 17, 2012 8:50 pm

Hi All, when I try to launch MPD after a successful install I get the following error:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
:: Starting Music Player Daemon [BUSY]
/etc/rc.d/mpd: line 6: 32352 Aborted /usr/bin/mpd /etc/mpd.conf &>/dev/null
[FAIL]

')

How old is the image, because it's systemd now
systemctl start mpd
systemctl enable mpd

Hi Pepedog, thanks for the reply. I am unfamiliar with that command, but I tried what you suggested and this is the message it game me:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
[root@alarm ~]# systemctl start mpd
Failed to get D-Bus connection: Failed to connect to socket /run/systemd/private: No such file or directory
[root@alarm ~]# systemctl enable mpd
Failed to get D-Bus connection: Failed to connect to socket /run/systemd/private: No such file or directory
[root@alarm ~]#

')

Test for the actual failure by running mpd directly, with the verbose and no-daemon options.

Looks to me like you haven't bothered to configure it, and the pulseaudio detection is very unhappy.
