$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('UberSlackr', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('DaCurryman', 'd')on't know what happened. just rebooted the PPv4 with just the USB stick again and then plugged in the GoFlex and it seems to have picked it up. gonna see what I can do with it now.

Like I mentioned before, I had a similar issue where PP would fail on boot if HDD was connect to SATA port.
Removing udev-automount and entry in fstab fix the issue for me...

This is my first time messing around with alARM, and it becoming a learning experience as nothing seems to be going as planned for me... I've built many NAS/Linux systems, but never had as much trouble getting things to work as I have with the alARM on a PP.

Wish I could help ya more, but I'm still figuring out this bugger myself...

Booting from USB. Do you have an updated bootloader or the one the instructions on the main page tell you to install. If it's the old one, then your USB stick has to have label "rootfs" and your sata drive has to NOT have that label.

As for the autmounting, udev-automount does not play nice with ntfs since the switch to systemd. Look for suggestions in the announcment thread about autmounting, specifically the last posts.

I don't know about the updated bootloader. I just followed the instructions on the main page. It should be booting from the USB 2.0 port that's on top. I don't have any SATA drive installed on top. The storage drive is a USB 3.0 drive plugged into the back. Not sure what you mean by the automounting and NTFS. Neither the book USB stick nor the storage drive is in NTFS format (it's in EXT3).

I'm considering just going back to a stock PPv4. Their website says that it supports EXT3. Does anyone know if that means I can use it with my Windows machines or will it only be good with my MacBook? Moving all the data, reformatting to NTFS and then moving the data back would be such a PITA.

Thanks.

The format of the drive when attached to the Pogoplug does not matter to the windows/mac machines since they use it over sshfs.

So if I try to reinstall this thing again (for the 3rd time), are the listed instructions on the below page still good/current?
http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5 ... s-ui-tabs2

Or is there an updated set of files/instructions I should be using (maybe that's causing my problems)?

Thanks.
