I tried it says everything is ok

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'Welcome to fdisk (util-linux 2.22.1).

Changes will remain in memory only, until you decide to write them.
Be careful before using the write command.

Command (m for help): x

Expert command (m for help): m
Command action
b move beginning of data in a partition
c change number of cylinders
d print the raw data in the partition table
e list extended partitions
f fix partition order
g create an IRIX (SGI) partition table
h change number of heads
i change the disk identifier
m print this menu
p print the partition table
q quit without saving changes
r return to main menu
s change number of sectors/track
v verify the partition table
w write table to disk and exit

Expert command (m for help): f
Nothing to do. Ordering is correct already.

')

And here is the partition table
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
Expert command (m for help): p

I don't think there's anything wrong with your partitions. HDD's "start" at sector 63 due to the way conversions happen in a MBR-formatted HDD.

As was suggested early on, your best bet is to use a TTL serial cable to talk to the Pogoplug while it's in its otherwise inoperable state.

I will say I attempted something similar (I tarred my "rootfs" flash drive and untarred it to a HDD, removed all other drives and attempted to boot) and I ended up with the same result as you, a bunch of blinking LEDs. Now that finals are over I've picked up a USB to serial adapter and once I get some time, I'll be diving into this issue.

Everything short of actually talking to the Pogoplug will be a guess.

That's true. However, if you delete the empty partition(s) first, then when you reorder it the second partition becomes the first.

But I'll ask again is it safe to delete the partition ?

Anything on this ? How do i decide what needs to be changed to bootargs i.e my hdd is shown as sdb on Pogo and sdc on Raspberry Pi which is making me confused.

I need to do this right ?

/usr/local/cloudengines/bin/blparam bootargs="/dev/sdb"

When the pogoplug starts it assigns the drives in the order it finds them sda... sdb ... etc.
On the Pro, if you have more than one USB drive then anyone of the drives might be the first one, it just depends which one is faster on that day.

The answer is

1)Plug in only 1 USB drive
2) boot up system
3) Plug in other USB drives

Is it because init ? not sure but shouldn't a USB stick which is faster in boot get mounted first

And the code says to mount sdb1 but would it read the file init when the USB itself is not mounted

An USB stick is apparently not always faster. Sometimes, for instance after a warm reboot, the 1TB external drive is faster.
That drive automatically becomes sda and the USB disc with the ArchLinux becomes sdb
If the latter is sda, nothing changes, the system just boots. If it is not the case, the init scripts makes sure that the sdb (=USB flash) is mounted and the root system is switched.

When you say switch you mean we need to have rootfs in both drives ?
