New user not logging in

I got a beagleboard running archlinux. I created a new user by using: # useradd -m -G users,audio,lp,optical,storage,video,wheel,power -s /bin/bash myuser
and assigned a password successfully.
But when I logout and put the login name as myuser and the assigned password. the terminal simply asks for my username again (it doesn't say wrong username or password!).
Any help plz

I have the same problem with a PandaBoard:

[root@panda ~]# su cbuehler
su: failed to execute /bin/bash: Permission denied
')

It turned out my SD card was defect.
I am not sure wheter this was the problem, but now with the current root fs, everything works fine.
