[solved] RPI won't boot on 3.10.6-1 (latest)

I only get red led... External harddrive won't spin up and I get no hdmi signal nor network traffic.

I unplugged it and took the sdcard out and replaced /boot/kernel.img with an ancient kernel.img.
The RPI would then boot and I downgraded linux-raspberrypi-latest to 3.10.4-1, which works for me.

What was changed? Anyone else with problems..?

solved by updating to linux-raspberrypi-latest 3.10.6-2 (Linux pi 3.10.7-2-ARCH+)

I have this problem too but i'm using f2fs as rootfs and in this version it's compiled as extern module. In my case i guess this is the reason, but if you don't use f2fs ....

My rootfs is EXT4

Same here, using btrfs for the rootfs.

Nothing really changed. It did boot on mine. I'll see what's up tonight.

Running f2fs as rootfs I get a kernel panic.

To add: I still have my original install on mmcblk0p2 (my f2fs root is on p3).

I changed my cmdline.txt and I can't boot off the older ext4 install either, same error.

If you updated kernel while rootfs was p3, kernel in p1 won't match modules in p2 /usr/lib/modules

I don't think it even gets a chance to fail that way.

It doesn't even get to the stage where it looks for a roootfs (if the panic is anything to go by, it's exactly the same error).
