How to log in via minicom on Olinuxino Maxi?

Postby MReimer » Thu Aug 22, 2013 3:11 pm

Hello,

I tried several times, now, but can't get my Olinuxino to run.

If I plug in the power cord, then the red LED lights up. About one second later the green one lights up, too.

I have an USB2UART device connected to the UART debug port and try to connect via:

minicom -D /dev/ttyUSB0 -b 115200

This fails. Nothing on screen. Nothing happens. I expected to see the boot process while booting up the Olinuxino... What could be wrong?

Have to correct myself...

I had to swap the TX and RX wires. For some reason I have to connect RX of my UART converter with RX on the Olinuxino board. I expected that I have to crosswire...

Now I see boot messages but I cannot login. Something still is wrong...

I see the login prompt after booting up but I can't see what I type.

If I close minicom and reopen it, then I don't get a new login prompt.

I've dropped minicom now and replaced it with "picocom". With picocom anything works by default. I only had to set the baud rate.
