minidlna server not visible on DLNA enabled TV

Postby hsingh » Sun Sep 08, 2013 9:53 pm

I was able to successfully install minidlna and am even able to see the server from my PC and android tablet but not from my TV. Can you please help?

I am able to see a serviio server running on my laptop and on the same wi-fi network on my TV. So I would think that this is not a router issue, but am open to trying any suggestions.

Thanks.

I have been reading everywhere online to try and figure miniDLNA but it seems that it's not going to work nice with my TV (Pioneer Elite). I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for alternatives to minDLNA that I can try installing on my pogo E02 with ALARM. e.g. xbmc, serviio etc

Please... any help in getting my pogo serve up content to my TV would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post your minidlna.conf file?

Three alternatives...

- The one built into the my.pogoplug.com service
- Plex Media Server
- Logitech Media Server

@flyinghappy - Here's all the non # lines from my minidlna.conf file. Please let me know if you see anything odd.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'port=8200

media_dir=AVP,/media/usb/

friendly_name=POGO

db_dir=/var/cache/minidlna

log_dir=/var/log

inotify=yes

enable_tivo=no

strict_dlna=no

presentation_url=http://192.168.99.4:8200/

notify_interval=90

serial=12345678
model_number=1

#root_container=.')

@grayman4hire I have the built in service enabled but have the same issue - Android device can see it but not the TV. I'll try reading up on Plex and Logitech next.
