upgrade to larger flash drive

Seems pogoplug wont boot without usb in. Doent get an IP and I get an orange light. Am I missing something?

you can just do it in a desktop with linux installed
First, format your thumb drive the same layout with your old thumb drive, same partition format using Gparted
For example, in your old thumb drive, first partition is 200 MB ext2 for boot, second 750MB ext3 for the / partition
Then you format your new drive, first partition 200 MB ext2, second 3.5GB (rest of the space) ext3
Second, do the copying...

The size really doesn't matter, if the old is 200 the new can be 100. I also suspect he doesn't have a separate boot artition.

OP, just make sure the first partition is ext3 and less than 20GB. Then, if you are doing it using your desktop/laptop, make sure you are doing it as root (sudo su).

Note: cp -a is already recursive, no need to add -r. Just cp -a <old> <new> is enough.
