aplay gives: no soundcards found...

brand new samsung chromebook 11 inch. One oddity is that I've setup the root file system to be read-only, and switch to read/write when installing packages...but I guess that is a bit of red herring.

I'm wondering if I need to enable a driver for the sound card or something?

Which kernel package version do you have installed, and what is reported by `uname -a`

Not sure if linux-chromebook is the same things as the kernel package.

Have a look @ the date of the kernel, and the date of the package.

Please mount partition 2 on /boot, and re-install the package linux-chromebook, and reboot.

Did somebody solved this issue with " aplay -l gives: no soundcards found..."
I got exactly the same issue, I fight with that at least week and nothing's helps I lost hope that is any solution and I think that issue is with kernel
