Oracle JDK 8 for ARM?

Postby cootcraig » Mon Jul 14, 2014 6:12 pm

I have not seen a reference to this in my forum searches. I'm hoping this
means it just runs. I have done some work with the Oracle JDK 8 on a
Raspberry Pi and hope to use it on my Cubox-I4pro in the future.

I acquired the Cubox-I4pro to run the Arch based Rune Audio system and
will cooperate with the Rune team on this.

Does anyone have any insight for me?

We can not, at this time, package the Oracle JDK 8. It does however function on the ARMv7 boards we've tried.

I am unable to quote the reply, but thanks for the response. I did not
expect it to be packaged, I just install it manually. I will make a note
to try it when I have a chance.

You might want to create an AUR package by taking JDK PKGBUILD for x86/_64 as an example so everyone can benefit. There is one already for EJRE.
