WIFI issue - multiple AP, same SSID, different channel

Postby qtch » Fri Aug 01, 2014 2:25 pm

Hello,
I'm using Olinuxino-IMX23 board and Archlinux 06.2014. My application uses TP-TN722N USB WIFI CARD and netctl for network configuration. I have one issue with WIFI operation. I'm using my board in area, where there is many APs with same SSID but different channels. Linux is not switching between different AP when there is different channel. Example:
After reset I'm connecing to AP1 CH1, moved 100m, lost signal but I'm in range of AP2 CH6, system is not connecting to WIFI.
When I'm back in AP1 CH1 range system is reconnecting and works fine. When I'm in AP2 CH6 range, typing "iwconfig wlan0 channel 6" helps. How can I configure my system to handle this automatically ?

How are you starting the netctl profile(s)?

It looks like switching AP is working, but sometimes autentication fails (timeout),

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')root@alarm ~]# dmesg | grep wlan0

what might be the reason ?

I've tried auto profiles with Secutiry=wpa and there is still no reconnection. It looks like ath9 is not triggering DISCONNECTED event! Any ideas ?
