What exactly takes place during an instalation of arch linux

Postby lenzojake » Fri Sep 11, 2015 7:35 pm

:D Hey if your reading this thanks for letting me pick your brain. Lately I have really started to get into linux, I have used it for the past five or six years but I have never really gotten serious about learning just what is going on and how exactly it works. So my main questions for the day are:

What does packstrap actually do?
How large should a page file or swap partition be, and should one even consider doing this with flash memory?
What can you do to make your os as secure as possible?(more more crazy and paranoid the better)

Everything in the devtools package is a shell script, you can read and see what they do.

Thanks again Warheads, good to know. :geek: assuming that my power level is below 9000 how would one go about finding this information? Is this like a man/info page or am I on a completely off tangent train of thought here?
