Beaglebone Black + Arch Arm + Waveshare LCD

Postby UraniumKnight » Mon May 09, 2016 9:02 pm

Hello,

I currently am using the most up to date Archlinux ARM with the Beaglebone black and am trying to get an LCD touch to work. The LCD and cape I am using are below:

LCD : http://www.waveshare.com/4.3inch-480x27 … -lcd-b.htm
Cape : http://www.waveshare.com/lcd-cape-4.3inch.htm

Seeing as the cape is really just a breakout for the LCD pins, I figured it would be okay, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I am pretty new to LCDs so I don't know where to start looking for an answer. Waveshare provides an LCD Debian image which produces output on the screen so I know the hardware is okay. Is there some driver that Arch doesn't have or isn't loading? If so, is it even possible to use this panel with the OS?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Thank you for replying but this post doesn't help me. I too do not have a frame buffer in /dev but the user on this post did not explain how he got it to work.
