Upgrading the kernel for Veyron

Because of some audio issues, I'm in the process of compiling the 4.6.0 version of the Linux Kernel. However, it doesn't look like the Veyron configuration uses LILO... I'm guessing it uses systemd-boot for kernel entries?

Can anybody point me in the right direction for adding new kernels? (I use an SD card that is side-loaded into a Chromebook, btw) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
