[exa] out-of-date but upstream is latest (missing pandoc)

Postby latipun » Tue Jan 11, 2022 12:03 am

In arch linux repository, exa already at the latest version.

But in arch linux ARM repository, the package still behind, even though the pkgver of the PKGBUILD already at the latest version.

Sorry, I'm still relatively new, and didn't know how to push the package or what should be done. It would be great if someone teach me what to do for other packages that have similar issues.
Thank you for the great support :)

Maybe it's not building due to any reason. Since PKGBUILD is available just try it out...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('andiling', 'M')aybe it's not building due to any reason. Since PKGBUILD is available just try it out...

Thanks for the guidelines.
If I try to build it, there's an error. Here's my step, please let me know if I'm wrong.

- go to exa Arch Linux ARM PKGBUILD page
- copy the content
- make new file with the name PKGBUILD and paste the contents there
- run makepkg -si

==> ERROR: exa is not available for the 'aarch64' architecture.

Then I try to edit the PKGBUILD, update arch=('x86_64') with arch=('aarch64'), now the error is different:

error: target not found: pandoc
==> ERROR: 'pacman' failed to install missing dependencies.
==> Missing dependencies:
-> pandoc
==> ERROR: Could not resolve all dependencies.

Seems ARM mirror didn't have pandoc.

pandoc exist on upstream, but not on Arch Linux ARM.

How to add that in the ARM mirror?

Get the PKGBUILD and try building it. https://archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/pandoc/ Some packages compile for other architectures as-is while other need patches or tweaking.
