Stale Mirrors

Postby lmn » Mon Jan 06, 2025 12:42 pm

All the official mirrors on the mirror list [1] seem to be stale.
The package index [2] lists packages that are newer than the packages in the repositories. Take the linux-rpi package [3] for example. Also the download link [4] is currently not working and returns a 404.

The mirrors seemingly were last updated on the December 22.

I did not find any announcement regarding this. It was just suspicious of the fact that there were no updates in the last 3 weeks and the package index lists packages that are not available in the repositories.

I just wanted to highlight the mismatch between the package index and the mirrors and ask if this intentional?

[1] archlinuxarm.org/about/mirrors
[2] archlinuxarm.org/packages
[3] archlinuxarm.org/packages/armv7h/linux-rpi
[4] mirror.archlinuxarm.org/armv7h/core/linux-rpi-6.12.8-1-armv7h.pkg.tar.xz

Edit: fixed BBCode, as it seems not to work.
This should produce a link [url=https://archlinuxarm.org]link[/url]. Posting URLS seems to break things:
make_clickable_callback(MAGIC_URL_FULL, ' ', 'https://archlinuxarm.org/packages/armv7h/linux-rpi', '', ' class="postlink"')

Is there any idea of an ETA? Any kind of estimate at all?

@graysky this happens from time to time. I tried researching last time what the process was to get this going, but I couldn't find where this is managed and who owns it. Could you point us to where this is happening and how it works?

Kevin, the Arch ARM primary developer handles these tasks.

Just to be sure ... there is nothing we can do currently but wait? All mirrors affected or can we switch?

Today, I took the time to test one by one each of the available mirrors and all of them were staled. Some even returned connection errors. The last successful upgrade I got on my device was on Dec 21. Over a month since, the issue still persists. Is there an estimate on when this issue will be resolved? :?:

Thanks.
