Since the forum search isn't working well I think it makes sense to repeat a possible fix for Wifi problems in this forum.

So,if your run into an [code]Authentication time out[/code] problem, try the fix mentioned in [url]https://archlinuxarm.org/forum[/url].

This worked for me as a workaround:
* Create a new config file "/etc/modprobe.d/brcmfmac.conf".
* Add the following line "options brcmfmac feature_disable=0x2000".
* Save and reboot.

It fixed my problem, too (Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Rev 1.2, AP: FritzBox).
