[Solved] Move arch to a different disk

Postby baz8080 » Thu May 10, 2012 11:18 pm

Hi All,

I have a seagate goflex home and I have been using arch happily for a while now thanks to the guide: http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5 ... oflex-home

I would like to use the 2TB drive in another machine so I would like to know if it is possible to move the arch install to a 1TB disk that I have.

I tried to tar up the existing install and move it to the new drive with the "rootfs" label but I think that attempt was a bit naive. When I did this I get no output from netcat and I'm unable to ssh in. I checked the leases on my router and it also appears to lose the mac address.

Thankful for any help.

Mount both drives in another linux machine. Make sure the destination is formatted ext3 and labeled 'rootfs' Then, $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'cp -aR /media/source/* /media/destination/')
